Thinking Allowed: What is Judgement and why is it so difficult?

A 45-minute philosophical session led by Think Learning's Professor Nigel Tubbs and Dr Rebekah Howes.

Date: Tuesday, 12th January 2027

Time: 2.30-3.15pm

We’re all asked to make judgements about situations, as well as about ourselves and others.

But do we understand what a judgement is or how it works?

In our usual Thinking Allowed style, we’ll offer 45 minutes of gentle philosophical discussion about the nature of judgement: what it is, how we make sense of things, what’s happening when we make judgements and why judgement is so difficult.

The webinar will act as a supportive philosophical introduction to the live webinar Judgement in Practice: Developing, Supporting and Trusting Professional Judgement.
