Resource set: Trauma informed practice and domestic abuse

This resource set is designed to deepen your understanding of domestic abuse and trauma, provide insights into how affected families experience services, highlight ways that you can be more trauma-informed in your approach to working with domestic abuse, and explore the benefits of doing so.

The video content features Professor David Shemmings, OBE, Dr Elena Alexandrou, and Ben Curtis sharing important insights from their own work in this challenging area of practice.

This resource set is structured around recordings of a webinar first broadcast on 20 May 2022, commissioned by Surrey Children's Services Academy and Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership in partnership with CareKnowledge.

Surrey staff and partner agencies: continue the conversation in the Surrey Trauma and Domestic Abuse Community of Practice

This group has been created as a safe space for people working with children in Surrey to reflect on the practice and services we provide to families affected by domestic abuse, to improve our practice as we interact more regularly, and to sustain learning among ourselves with continued discussion.
