integrated careIn his latest Special Report for us 'Degrees of integration: a journey or a destination?' Mike Lauerman used his own personal experiences to begin a discussion on a number of issues that are central to the health and social care integration debate. And he also identified essential underpinning values for individual and organisational behaviour. Here it is in an exclusive CareKnowledge infographic.
  • Child Protection Practice

Child Protection Practice'Child Protection Practice' was written by Harry Ferguson and published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2011. Drawing on extensive research and personal experience, a lot of the book is about the home and the centrality of what goes on in it to social work. The book starts by looking at the history of child protection, policy and practice, and then takes the reader on a journey starting on the streets and housing estates, through the front door, and into various rooms of the house. The role of touch in child protection, and other settings, including cars, is addressed. 'Intimate Child Protection' is a key theme throughout.

We have Chapter 10 'Working with Mothers' and Chapter 11 'Working with Fathers' on CareKnowledge.
